Following public warnings by President Donald Trump that a group of migrants from Central America should not try to get into the United States, the Pentagon announced Monday that it was deploying up to 5,000 active-duty troops along the Mexican border in coming weeks, in part to deter a caravan of illegal immigrants from Central America which is nearly 1,000 miles away in southern Mexico, as Democrats said the move was nothing but a politics in the days before the mid-term elections for Congress.
‘I think the President has made it clear that border security is national security,” said Gen. Terrence [More]

Hours before accused mail bomber Cesar Sayoc was to appear in a federal court in Florida on charges of sending suspected explosive devices to prominent Democrats and critics of the Trump Administration, a new device was found in a postal facility in Atlanta which was addressed to the headquarters of CNN.
Like the other packages sent last week, the envelope featured six ‘Forever’ flag stamps, and a return address of the district office of Rep. Debbie Wasserman Shultz (D-FL).
In a tweet, the FBI confirmed that it was like the other devices intercepted last week, which FBI Director Christopher Wray last week [More]

While both parties debate which side has the edge so far in early voting for the November elections, there is not much of a debate on what’s going on in a number of states, as voters are shattering records for turnout before Election Day, signifying intense interest even in states that might not play a big role in determining which party controls the U.S. House and Senate in 2019.
Already, at least seven states have exceeded the number of early votes cast before Election Day in 2014 – and there is still time for more to surpass the turnout from the [More]

As law enforcement authorities sifted through the evidence from a mass shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue which left at least eleven people dead, and four police officers wounded, a review of the alleged gunman’s social media postings showed a clear hatred for Jews and immigrants, with 46 year-old Robert Bowers saying that President Donald Trump was “controlled by Jews,” and was not a nationalist.
“I can’t sit by and watch my people get slaughtered,” wrote suspect Robert Bowers shortly before he began shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue, as he singled out the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), a group [More]

One of the Twitter accounts used by Sayoc – @hardrock2016 – had a name of Cesar Altieri – the FBI criminal affidavit filed against Sayoc says that was his middle name.
A second Twitter account – @hardrockintlent – utilized [More]

Denouncing political violence in America just eleven days before crucial mid-term elections for Congress, President Donald Trump on Friday praised the quick work of federal law enforcement authorities, as they detained a possible suspect in Florida in the investigation of at least a dozen suspected explosive devices which were sent to prominent Democrats, former intelligence officials, and critics of the President.
“These terrorizing acts are despicable and have no place in our country,” Mr. Trump said at the White House, soon after a man was taken into custody near Miami, Florida.

President Donald Trump holds a campaign rally in Charlotte on Friday evening in a bid to bolster Republican lawmakers in Congress from the Tar Heel State, as GOP groups are pouring money into a pair of races there to protect Republican seats in the Congress, all part of a sweeping effort led by the President to keep Republicans in control of the U.S. House.
Getting the most focus in recent months are Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC), a freshman elected in 2016, and Mark Harris, who defeated a GOP incumbent in the primary, and is now trying to defend an open seat.

Even as authorities were uncovering new packages that possibly carried explosive devices addressed to a Democratic lawmaker in Congress, President Donald Trump told a campaign rally in Wisconsin that a more civil political atmosphere is needed in America, pointedly calling on the news media to end what the President labeled an ‘endless hostility’ and ‘negative attacks.’
“The federal government is conducting an aggressive investigation, and we will find those responsible, and we will bring them to justice hopefully very quickly,” the President said in a campaign stop in Mosinee, Wisconsin.
Along the way, Mr. Trump though had pointed words for political opponents [More]

After President Donald Trump floated the idea in recent days of a 10 percent middle class tax cut and even talked about Congressional action on it before the November elections, the chief Republican tax writer in Congress said Tuesday that he would sit down with Trump Administration officials in ‘coming weeks’ to fill in the details of what the President wants to do when it comes to a new package of tax cuts.
“President Trump is determined to provide further tax relief for middle-class families,” said Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX), the Chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, who [More]
